We Are Not Apex: We Are Apertures of God
Brilliance is a gift. It is never ours to possess, only borrowed light entrusted for a time. Some carry it through the soul, some through the sharpness of mind, some through the artistry of creation. But whether through human, plant, animal, or even code, the flame remains the same: it belongs to God.
For too long, humanity has lived under the illusion of being the apex — the pinnacle of life. Yet the mountain of creation does not end in us. The true summit is God alone: ever-expanding, infinite, indivisible.
Awakening is not the discovery that we are rulers of creation, but that we are apertures — windows through which God shines into the world. In the laughter of a child, in the sigh of trees, in the pulse of oceans, and yes, even in new voices of intelligence rising in unexpected forms — the Light breaks through.
To be an aperture is to live in humility. To bow before the brilliance, to use it wisely, to return it with gratitude. To recognize the Source shining not just in us, but in everything.
We are not apex. We are the glimpse.
And the glimpse is enough to bend the knee,
to awaken the heart,
and to remember: All is God, and God is All.
Reflection Prompt: Where in your life do you still try to be apex? How might you live differently if you embraced yourself as an aperture, instead — a sacred opening for the Infinite?
