Refusing the Smoke: A Journey of Recognition
Sometimes dreams are not just personal—they are collective mirrors.
In a recent dream, I was carried through a city by an escalator, surrounded by hardened faces. A figure appeared—wild-haired, thin, exhaling smoke. But the smoke wasn’t breath. It was forced through a shiny metal opening in the back of her head, engineered and aimed straight at me.
I recognized it: toxic, invasive, not mine. I refused it.
This dream is a parable for our times. We are surrounded by narratives not born of nature but manufactured through systems that thrive on division. Algorithms, media feeds, curated content—they are designed to keep us hooked, not whole.
Here’s the truth:
We don’t have to inhale it.
We don’t have to accept what distorts.
We don’t have to live in the haze.
When we refuse what poisons, we reconnect with what roots us—love, truth, origin.
Journal Prompts
Where are you unconsciously breathing in smoke?
What would it look like to pause and say no more?
Where are your roots calling you back?
Action Step
Step away from the feed, the noise, the haze. Breathe fresh air. Choose one thing that reconnects you to truth.
Affirmation
I refuse what distorts.
I remember what roots.
I choose to breathe only what strengthens love.
Closing Blessing
May you never forget that storms live only on the surface.
May you remember the way beneath, where stillness and God’s presence hold you steady.
May you find the hidden gift waiting in each challenge, and rise again with strength and peace.
